Volume 4, Issue 1 (2023) The Intersectionality of Research and Practice in Addressing Challenges in Education
Welcome to volume 4, issue 1 of the Journal of Advancing Education Practice (JAEP). The Spring 2023 theme for the Journal of Advancing Education Practice (JAEP) is the Intersectionality of Research and Practice in Addressing Challenges and Issues in Education. As a practitioner friendly academic journal, JAEP welcomes original research, opinions, reflections, perspectives, action research, practical strategies, and commentary that might improve the culture of higher education and for this issue, K-12 education. The journal encourages all stakeholders to add their voices to the body of knowledge with the goal of creating more accessible and equitable systems of education with the aim to strengthen learning communities.
The editorial team recognizes a myriad of challenges in K-12 and higher education that affect teaching, learning and policy processes relevant to efficient and effective education practice. As such, we seek submissions that elaborate on the following:
- Describing the lived experiences of K-12/higher education stakeholders related to challenges to teaching and learning from a research lens,
- Reimagining the vertical relationship of K-12 and higher education communities toward advancing education practice,
- Exploring collaboration of research and practice to advance teaching and learning, 3. Envisioning mentoring strategies that support research-based instruction,
- Engaging K-12 practitioners in action research that addresses issues relevant to effective teaching practices,
- Reforming higher ed practices to develop scholarship that leads to better understanding of education challenges.
- Elucidating issues emerging from the dual enrollment process, and
- To address teacher shortages and diversity issues Reconceptualizing the K-12 to higher education pipeline to address teacher shortages and diversity issues.
