Description

Fremling's field notebook for 1993-2000 includes original research notes and drawings, trip descriptions, professional/research travel mileage, and expenses for reimbursement. Notes are dated April 14, 1993-July 22, 2000, written in mostly pencil. Multiple pages marked with unlabeled sticky notes. Business cards, receipts, and other paper ephemera are filed loosely throughout. Pages are unnumbered. Some notes in different handwritings. Subjects covered include: Louisiana trip (1993), Itasca State Park/headwaters trip with granddaughter Kirsti (1995), fishing and hunting trips, local gardening and mushroom hunting, emergence period of mayflies (H. bilineata), Mississippi River descriptions, Lake Winona levels and aerators, Boller Lake dam and water levels, Gilmore Creek, Bartlet Lake, Woodlawn cemetery, fish counts, duck counts, curly-leaf pondweed (P. crispus), coontail (Ceratophyllum demersum, horntail), UMRCC meetings, NASCO, writing/research projects, winter weather, Brainerd tree farm/land and arboretum land.
