Description

Fremling's field notebook for 1979-1980 includes original research notes, some professional/research travel mileage, and expenses for reimbursement. Notes are dated May 30, 1979-April 24, 1980, written in pencil, with notebook only partially filled. Pages are unnumbered. Notes primarily describe an oil spill affecting Lake Winona and its wildlife, the resulting fish kill (due to bacteria taking advantage of environmental stress), and aquatic plant growth. Other subjects include: Boller Lake water levels, dam repair, northern pike traps and counts. Minor notes regarding contact information, mayfly emergences, and local historical society talks.
