Photograph of seven of the nine members of the Minnesota State Normal Board (also known as the State Normal School Board) seated and standing on the steps of a campus building. Only Stephen Somsen is looking at the camera. Miniature photos of the two missing men were pasted on the original.
The members were C. G. Schulz, Superintendent of Public Instruction (second from left); Ell Torrance, President; Karl Mathie; W. C. Ross; C. A. Nye; J. L. Washburn (far left); H. E. Hoard; John C. Wise; Stephen H. Somsen (far right).
