An Exploration of the Reactivity of Triazaphosphaadamantane

Abstract

Triaazaphosphadamantane presents many unique qualities in a tertiary phosphine. It is water soluble, minimally sensitive to oxidizers and sterically completely unencumbering. These properties make it a highly valuable ligand for metals, especially when seeking to increase aqueous solubility. Interest in this substance has only more recently taken off and thus its reactivity and properties, and its potential for other applications have only minimally been explored. We have undertaken a multi-faceted exploration of triazaphosphaadmantane and are seeking to expand the chemistry community's knowledge base of its reactivity patterns and highlights of its spectroscopy.
