Description

Field notebook jointly authored by Cal Fremling and Jerry Nagahashi, 1966-1976. Contents include original notes, drawings, and tables with later annotations (1958, etc). Nagahashi's notes are dated July 9, 1966-April 21, 1967. Fremling's notes begin after a separation of blank pages and are dated July 2, 1975-March 29, 1976, with a note regarding mayflies dated August 29, 1977. Written and drawn mostly in pencil and ink. Notes are in Fremling and Nagahashi's handwritings, and another unknown hand (possibly Arlayne Fremling or Angie Boettcher). Pages are unnumbered. Notes include descriptions of mayflies (Ephorom album), mayfly hatching experiments, towboats, barges and their operators, lock sizes and dimensions, Lake Winona fish traps, anecdotes regarding the relationships between the Corps of Engineers and lock and river boat crews, meal descriptions, and contact information.
