Abstract

The Research Experience Panel is moderated by Dr. Kimberly Bates, Professor of Biology, Winona State University.

  • Dr. Dylan Blumentritt is a Professor of Geoscience.
  • Dr. Doug Dallier is a Professor of Sociology and Criminal Justice. Dr. Dallier will share his experiences mentoring students on publishing and, more recently, on preparing research poster presentations for the discipline's most prestigious annual meeting: the American Society of Criminology conference, held in Chicago in November 2026.
  • Hannah Casselman with share their research experiences with the Healthy Eating Lab with Dr. Amanda Brower, qualitative research, coding, Oxtocin research with Dr. Deyo, presenting locally (La Crosse, Wisconsin), and presenting at annual conference for The Society for Personality and Social Psychology in Chicago, Illinois.
  • Megan Ekhern is an undergraduate in Psychology who has been a member of the Health Behavior research lab, completed her own independent research project on fMRIs and piano abilities, and helped Dr. Deyo behind the scenes with histology.
  • Maggie Kramer is a Professional Science Master in Biology graduate student (faculty mentor is Kimberly Bates).
  • Ava Krolnik has worked in 3 different research labs in different areas of psychology, neuroscience, social, and clinical. All of these have been with professors at Winona State but have worked differently, especially Deyo's neuroscience lab where Ava worked in a histology lab. Ava has been involved in research from Fall 2024 to Spring 2026.
  • Dr. Tyler Treptow-Bowman is the Director of Grants & Sponsored Projects. Tyler will share details related to grant administration and internal grant opportunities for undergraduate research and creative projects.
