HIV/AIDS Winona Oral History Project

The interviews in the HIV/AIDS Winona Oral History Project collection were recorded in spring 2016 as a part of Dr. Mary Jo Klinker’s Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies course titled Introduction to LGBTQ Studies. After studying Stewart Van Cleve‘s A Land of 10,000 Love: A History of Queer Minnesota, (2012) WSU undergraduate students interviewed residents of Southeast Minnesota who were directly affected by the HIV/AIDS crisis in the 1980s and 1990s. This project was made possible by Van Cleve’s methodological framework and the generous time and sharing of community members.
