Common name used in specmien book: Common buttercup. Non-native, introduced to North America. Taxonomy - Order: Ranunculales; Family: Ranunculaceae; Genus: Ranunculus L.; Species: Ranunculus repens L. Collected from "marshy soil" near Lake Winona, Winona, Winona County, Minnesota, on May 21, 1899.

This botanical specimen was collected by Helen J. Monahan in 1899 for a Botany course taught by John M. Holzinger at the Winona Normal School in Winona, Minnesota. It was included in a collection of sixty-seven specimens which can be viewed in the Botanical Specimen Book collection in OpenRiver.
